Beth SALLEWSKY
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Beth has many years of experience working in the veterinary field as well as owning a dog walking and pet care business.

She is passionate about animal rights and is best known for her activism in Toronto and presence at vigils. She continues to support animal rights groups such as the grassroots anti-speciesism movement and the save movement, when she is not doing farm chores!

Beth works at an animal hospital in Meaford, taking a break from caring for animals…  by caring for animals. You might say she’s obsessed!

Jaime Sirna
Co-Founder & Executive Director

Jaime’s bond with animals began at the age of six, saving bunnies from the backyard and becoming a wildlife foster. She later worked for a private farm sanctuary for six years, rescuing farmed animals and rehabilitating them using natural horsemanship methods.

Jaime was a founding member of a large dog rescue group in 2012 and furthered her understanding of animal behaviour and welfare in 2015 through courses at the University of Guelph.

Jaime brings an extensive knowledge of large animal health and behaviour, nutrition, and homeopathic treatment to the LOBFS team. Jaime works full-time for Vegandale festival, to support the residents!

maintenance, operations, property owner

Tobias,  together with his wife Beth, own the property that houses the residents of LOBFS. He originally wanted a farm as an excuse to own a tractor (who doesn't?)  and escape the city, but is now unbelievably happy to have a barn full of rescued animals.

When he's not performing various maintenance duties on the property (again an excuse to drive a tractor), Tobias is the founder of MAMiKU, a creative studio which focuses on photography and design. Tobias designed our amazing merch and the LOBFS logo!

Brian the Steer
Marketing Manager

When he’s not busy giving loving and sloppy kisses to volunteers and visitors, Brian the Steer (yes the same Brian as the Love of Brian fame) plays the indispensable role as sanctuary spokesteer.

He has the final say on all social media posts, whether it’s instagram, tik tok or facebook!

TORI Rooney
volunteer

Tori started volunteering in September of 2019. Currently an Environmental Science student at Queen's University with aspirations of obtaining her Doctorate of Veterinary medicine.

Tori worked with The Dog Rescuers Inc. and the Oakville and Milton Humane Society before moving to Thornbury, ON and now puts her time and love into the farm family at LOBFS.

CATHERINE COURT
VOLUNTEER

Catherine started volunteering in March 2024.  Catherine and her husband recently moved to the area in pursuit of closer proximity to nature for a healthier lifestyle and mental well-being.

Catherine was seeking a volunteer opportunity with animals when she came across LOBFS.  She quickly fell in love with all of our residents and is eagerly learning more about their care.  When she isn’t cuddling Teddy or doing chores with Ricardo, she is probably playing a song on her ukulele.
